Harmonized thematic open datasets

Provide access to harmonized thematic open datasets

What´s the project about?

GO-PEG Scope

The main objective of the proposed Action is to provide access to harmonized thematic open datasets and their corresponding metadata in areas such as environment, emergency and disaster management.

The starting point will be existing spatial (and related) datasets from INSPIRE (Directive 2007/2/EC) and from existing spatial data infrastructures in the Member States. These datasets are published in national or thematic geoportals and are accessible through the European Open Data portal. The datasets will be harmonized in terms of data content, level of detail, data structure, vocabularies and license conditions.

The results will be made available through the European Data Portal and documented through metadata in the appropriate harvested catalogues.

The Action will result in clusters of datasets within the mentioned themes and covering the five selected countries. These will be made accessible by web services to allow users to discover, view and download the data.
